                   "When Cotton was King"

Just read a very good book, it links life lessons learned in the cotton fields, to Scripture. We need more books like this one. You need to hunt this book up and read it, it will warm you heart with its humor and life lessons. It also gives good lessons for raising children. The author Michael Owens wife (the former Regina Massey) was from Mt. Hope.

                           Need a Good Cry?

Just spent some time around Mt. Hope School (without the High inserted). See the equipment being taken to Hatton. Watch as the Elementary and Junior School is moved to the High School Building. It has brought tears to my eyes, as I see beautiful memories fading away. I always loved Mt. Hope High School, and I will continue to love Mt. Hope School (K-8). I will support it and its staff any way I can. We still have the best principle and staff of any school in Lawrence County. Also just to let you know, I will also support our kids as they transition to Hatton High School. And yes, I will learn to love Hatton High School a little more each year, as we have more involvement with them.
